The digitalisation of our laboratories is intensifying and opening up new horizons. Combined with the knowledge base that L’Oréal has built up over the years, it bolsters our innovation model, from the science stage through to formulation and product evaluation. New data processing techniques are combined with artificial intelligence to foster and support scientific discoveries. Digital tools now extend to molecular modelling and rapid-result testing robots, to continue to guarantee L’Oréal’s high standards for quality, efficacy and safety.
Connected beauty is pushing back the limits of the consumer experience, with personalised services, like the UV Patch for sun protection.
In Advanced Research, we are continuing our work on sun protection and pollution, investing in particular on a new scientific area: the exposome. The term encompasses all the environmental exposures an individual is subjected to over the course of his or her life. Our goal is to measure the impact of the exposome on skin health, with a promising cosmetics angle: how can we protect the skin from daily aggressions and slow ageing?
