Financial communications geared towards shareholders and investors
As the financial health of L’Oréal is monitored by both investors and shareholders, the Financial Communications team concentrates all of its efforts on regularly providing information to these stakeholders, who are crucially important for the company.
Innovative communication tools
Strongly committed to its stakeholders, and to its shareholders in particular, L’Oréal actively communicates about its activities through the digital Annual Report. Available in three languages – French, English and Chinese (Mandarin) – it sets out the Group’s strategy and performance, and highlights the Group’s activities through articles, videos and infographics. The 2017 edition, viewed more than three million times, is a real reputation-builder for L’Oréal.
Meanwhile, the regulated financial information website has been redesigned to make the information more accessible, clearer and more direct.

A close relationship with individual shareholders
The number of individual shareholders holding their shares in registered form is increasing year by year. L’Oréal has a special relationship with them, further strengthened by the 10% loyalty bonus paid on registered shares held continuously for more than two calendar years. To better understand their expectations, and improve the communication with them, L’Oréal created a Shareholder Consultation Committee in 2010, which meets four times a year. Before each Committee meeting, members are offered an immersive experience of the L’Oréal universe to help them understand the Group’s strategic challenges. Visits to production sites and entities are organised, as well as meetings with the Chairman and CEO, or the Chief Financial Officer.
Two members of the Shareholder Consultation Committee talked to us about their relationship with L’Oréal at the 2018 Actionaria shareholder fair in Paris, in which L’Oréal was participating:

In close touch with investors
The financial communications team also reaches out to investors and analysts at meetings and conference calls when the Annual Results are published. In addition, they also connect face-to-face at roadshows throughout the year.
Capital Market Days are the highlight of this ongoing exchange of views. Held in China in 2018, the event provided investors with a clearer insight into the challenges of beauty in China, and L’Oréal’s success in this key market.
